Artist Manager / Digital Marketer
After studying music and sound engineering in her hometown (Bogotá, Colombia), María Cecilia had the marvellous opportunity of interning for a classical music studio in Vienna, Austria. Whilst being there she worked for several classical concerts, orchestras and festivals, including the 2019 summer season of Die Zauberflöte in the Oper im Steinbruch.
Following this experience she obtained a full scholarship (granted by the British Council) to study Cultural and Creative Industries at the University of Sussex. She culminated her degree with a distinction qualification and continues to reside in Brighton and Hove after obtaining a Global Talent Visa (under the official endorsement of the Arts Council).
María Cecilia’s work as a sound engineer focuses mainly on live music, especially classical and Latin American, and virtual reality audio design. She has received various achievements in these fields, such as becoming the first Latin American to ever be nominated for the Cinema Audio Society Student Recognition Awards (2019 – Los Angeles), and becoming a panellist for the prestigious International Music Festival of Cartagena (XIII edition).
She joined Polyphony Arts in 2021 as an artist manager, in search of connecting United Kingdom and Europe with the South American classical music market. María Cecilia is also a musician and a singer herself, and she mainly performs traditional Latin American music like boleros, ballads, and Latin Jazz. On 2016 she had the unique opportunity of singing with the Rolling Stones in their Bogotá concert (part of the Olé tour) – we have included a photograph to prove it!
