Lily Hope

Artist Manager

Lily is a spirited English cellist who holds passion for representative programming, historically informed playing and accessibility for audiences. Lily accepted a bachelor’s degree from the Royal College of Music London in 2018, where she studied with Alexander Chaushian, Reiko Ichise, and Richard Tunicliffe.

Lily has performed at the Southbank Centre, Royal Opera House, Queen’s Gallery Buckingham Palace, Royal Festival Hall, Latitude Music Festival, St John’s Smith Square, and as soloist with the Royal Sutton Coldfield Orchestra, as well as in various concerts for the RCM. She is an impassioned chamber musician, and since the formation of the Maconchy Quartet in 2018, Lily has found great joy in delving into overlooked masterworks and innovative new music. This led her to co-create the RETAKE concert series in 2020, which strives to provide a platform through which this excellent music can be showcased.

Lily also enjoys recording for screen, with her recent sessions including BBC’s Small Axe and The Last Letter From Your Lover (2021). As a musician, Lily is motivated by a variety of music, from Purcell to Led Zeppelin, and she enjoys musical theatre, the mixing of genres, and music that subverts expectations. Lily plays an Italian Cello made by Fabio Piagentini in 2017.
