Julia Kogan: Soprano

Julia Kogan is an international award-winning British American French opera singer, writer and presenter.  She has performed at top venues around the world (Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, etc.), released five solo albums and has had her work featured by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Opera News, BBC Radio 3 and 4, and many others.  Her latest recording with composer Isabelle Aboulker was singled out as Best Classical CD of 2019 by the Arts Desk.  Julia’s BBC Radio 4 documentary, The Lost Songs of Hollywood, was chosen ‘pick of the week’ by the BBC.  She is the co-writer of feature film Florence Foster Jenkins, starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.

“Kogan’s warm, characterful voice never grates, and her immaculate diction means that anyone with a smattering of French will be able to follow what’s going on… You can’t imagine this music being performed with greater authority.”
