Hull Chamber Music 2019-20

We are thrilled to announce Hull Chamber Music’s 2019-20 season. We are very excited about the plans, including Isata Kanneh-Mason’s performance of her new project with Decca, on Clara Schumann’s life and music, and, for members of HCM In Harmony, the opportunity to meet the Chiaroscuro Quartet. New for 2019 is our first ever relaxed performance, for anyone who would prefer to enjoy chamber music outside the concert hall; Fenella Humphreys returns to HCM with a spectacular musical journey around the world at the Ferens Art Gallery, as well as giving a performance of works from her acclaimed disc, So Many Stars. And much more! Download the brochure here.

New vision for HCM

We have developed a new vision statement for HCM, focusing on community, inclusivity and accessibility.

At HCM we strive to bring an outstanding musical experience to both traditional and new audiences through a season of concerts performed by internationally acclaimed musicians. Chamber music is a vibrant, evolving form and we seek to offer a diversity of programming, celebrating the classical repertoire whilst challenging new horizons with more contemporary works or less conventional ensembles.

We are so grateful to our core audience of committed concert-goers and music lovers who attend our events and promote the society; with you, we have been able to provide the people of Hull with top quality chamber music for over 70 years.

We are passionate about reaching out to the wider community and impacting individuals who may be less familiar with the experience of live classical music by making this emotive, vibrant and exhilarating live art form accessible and inclusive.

With this in mind, our main values, alongside our existing commitment to musical excellence are: community, inclusivity, accessibility, and partnership.
